The Side Game and Side Game Event (together, "the Service") are operated by Axiom D.A. ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect through the Service, how we use it, and who it's shared with.
Account information. If you sign in to the player app or the organiser dashboard (with Google or an email and password), we collect your email address, display name, and, if you sign in with Google, your profile photo.
Profile information you add. Optionally, your country and home club, and a profile photo you upload.
Round and scoring data. When you play a round, we store the course, scores, stakes, and game settings for that round — including the names and handicaps of other players in your group, since one device typically tracks the whole group's scorecard.
Event Mode data. If you play in an event run through Side Game Event, no sign-in is required — you're identified by an Event Code and Player Code given to you by the organiser. Your player record (name, and if the organiser has entered it: handicap, the last 4 digits of an ID number, email, mobile number, group, and tee time) is created and managed by the event organiser, not by us or by you directly. You can correct your own name once checked in.
Scorecard photos. If you use the course-scan feature to read a physical scorecard's par and stroke-index values, the photo is sent to our AI provider (see "Third parties" below) to extract those values, and is not stored by us afterward.
Feedback you submit. If you send a bug report or suggestion, we collect the message, the page you were on, and your email address only if you choose to provide one.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
Other players and your organiser. Scores, names, and handicaps within a round or event are visible to other participants in that round or event, and to the organiser running it — that's the nature of a shared scorecard.
An important note on Event Mode. To keep joining an event frictionless, a player's record in Event Mode can be read (and a player's own name updated) by anyone who has that event's Event Code together with a Player Code — no account or sign-in is required. We'd rather be upfront about this than describe it as more locked-down than it is: don't enter more information than an organiser is comfortable sharing this way, and organisers should only collect what they actually need from participants (an ID's last 4 digits, email, and mobile are optional fields used only to catch duplicate entries).
Service providers. We use Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, and hosting, and Anthropic's Claude API solely to read par/stroke-index values from a scorecard photo when you use the scan feature — the photo is not retained by us after that request completes. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We don't share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else beyond what's described above.
We keep account and round data for as long as your account is active, so your round history stays available to you. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below.
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to ask how it's used. You can exercise these by contacting us below — for information organisers hold about you in Event Mode, you may also need to contact that event's organiser directly, since they control that data.
The Service is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
We use industry-standard tools (Google Firebase's authentication and access-control systems) to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers (Firebase, Anthropic) may process and store data on servers located outside Singapore. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
